Good to know

I enjoy getting to know new people by renting several private rooms in our Pacific Heights home. We are selective in who we rent to and have always had very respectful and welcoming guests. In addition to exclusive access to your room and private bathroom, you will also have access to spaces that are shared with the hosts and other guests, including our full kitchen and amazing rooftop deck, which features great views of the city and lots of succulents. The deck is the perfect spot to have lunch or just soak up the San Francisco sun in our hammock. Please note that to get to your room, you will need to climb 1 steep set of stairs with your luggage. Please consider whether this works for you. We do not have an elevator.

Other Details to Note

Our house is situated in the lower region of the Pacific Heights neighborhood, known for its safety and charm. However, we advise caution in certain San Francisco areas. Specifically, avoid the Tenderloin neighborhood due to its high homeless population and unpleasant atmosphere. Similarly, we suggest steering clear of the South of Market (SOMA) area for similar reasons.

BART is often used for longer trips across the Bay Area. Fares are based on the distance traveled. You can buy tickets at vending machines in BART stations using cash, credit, or debit cards. Alternatively, you can use a Clipper card, which is a reloadable card that works on most Bay Area transit systems, including BART and Muni (see below for more detail). 2) Muni (San Francisco Municipal Railway): Muni operates buses, streetcars (also known as trolleys or trams), and the famous cable cars within San Francisco. Muni is the primary mode of public transportation within the city and is used for shorter, local trips. Single-ride bus and streetcar fares can be paid with exact change onboard. Alternatively, Muni offers a mobile app where you can purchase and use digital tickets for buses, streetcars, and cable cars or you can use your Clipper card. If you plan on taking a lot of public transport, you may want to purchase a Clipper card. This all-in-one, reloadable transit card can be used for the BART, MUNI, and cable cars. It can be purchased and reloaded at various locations, including Walgreens stores, BART stations, and online. The Clipper card can also be added to Apple Wallet on your iPhone or Apple Watch, allowing you to use your device to tap and pay for rides.
